Tips and advice for Family Weekend
Get ready for an unforgettable Family Weekend at CU Boulder! This beloved fall tradition is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in campus life, create new memories and celebrate your student’s journey. Here are some tips and advice to make the most of your visit.
Campus tours and photo ops
While there will be various tours as part of the Family Weekend schedule, ask your Buff to give you their own tour of campus! They can show you where their classes are, their favorite hangout spots and the best places to eat.
CU Boulder is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, and there are many spots that offer the perfect setting for selfies and family photos:
- The Farrand Field archway with the Flatirons in the background
- The “Sko Buffs” wall on the second floor of the Center for Community (C4C)
- The Ralphie statue in front of Folsom Field
- The top-floor terrace of the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE)
No matter how you choose to explore, these moments can help you connect with your student and experience the spirit of campus firsthand.
Dining locations
With so many great places to eat on campus, Family Weekend is the perfect time to discover CU Boulder’s dining scene. Whether you’re craving classic comfort food or want to try your student’s favorite quick bite, there’s something for everyone.
Ask your Buff for their top dining recommendations—maybe it’s the WeatherTech Cafe and Bakery for coffee and pastries, Village Center Dining for all-day breakfast or The Alley @ Farrand for made-to-order burgers. Exploring these dining venues together offers another way to connect and share in the campus experience.
