The Center for Teaching and Learning seeks applications for a new, year-long faculty fellows program focused on emerging trends, directions, and needs in teaching, learning, and technology.

Recent years have witnessed the unprecedented development of digital technologies that have had a profound impact on university education, from Zoom to AI. This cohort of approximately 10 faculty will investigate how we can proactively prepare students to be productive and engaged global citizens in a world of rapidly changing technological innovations in higher education.

Through this program, faculty will have the opportunity to identify and address the pressing needs within this rapidly changing landscape. They will explore and envision their teaching and learning goals for the next 3 to 5 years, while considering the role of technology in achieving those goals. By adopting a proactive mindset, faculty fellows will collaboratively discover innovative approaches to teaching in the digital age, moving beyond a focus solely on surveillance, caution, and even punishment to proactively embrace these transformations and equip students with the skills necessary to become productive and engaged global citizens in a world of continually evolving technological innovations.

In monthly meetings, participants engage in in-depth conversations with the CTL Director, Staff and other campus experts and work collectively over the course of an academic year to advance a project or projects the group identifies as promising in proactively adapting their teaching methodologies and leveraging technology effectively, ultimately enhancing the learning experience for their students (e.g., develop teaching resources to share with campus; draft recommendations to campus entities such as OIT, etc.). Participants will receive $1,500 in a research account at the conclusion of the academic year.

We invite interested faculty (TTT & Teaching Professors) to submit their application materials by email (CTL@Colorado.edu) by October 1, 2023. Applicants should include:

  1. A one-page statement of interest
  2. A CV
  3. A brief statement from a chair or director expressing support for participation in the program
