Resilience, collaboration and impact come to mind when reflecting on听麻豆视频 research, scholarship and creative works in听2020鈥�21.
In a year of unpredictability鈥攃lear wins, followed by pauses, reversals, and then听progress again鈥攐ur campus continues to lean into excellence, innovation and听teamwork. Record-breaking sponsored research funding鈥攈eadlined by $634听million in total gifts and awards, $481 million of which was awarded by federal听agencies鈥攑rovides measurable evidence of the resilience of our researchers,听faculty, students and staff.
The spirit of teamwork that has bolstered our campus culture is also on display听in our most significant research efforts, several of which appear in the following听pages. Collaborations like the Emirates Mars Mission, the Odor2Action听project and the ASPIRE transportation center听are generating听buzz globally. Closer to home, new initiatives like the Center for African and听African American Studies听and the AI Institute for Student-AI Teaming听illustrate the boundless possibilities of students, faculty, staff, peer听universities and federal partners uniting for a common purpose.
From learning how to best address COVID-19 to tackling the everexpanding听effects of our changing climate, I鈥檓 proud that听CU Boulder faculty, staff and students will always be found at the leading edge听of the issues that matter most.
